favorite artist

I mean, I don't really have a favorite, but one that I really like is this persone who goes by the pen name "xamag" on her tumblr as well as her own webcomic that I read sometimes and like, called "Black Brick Road", which is a different take on the Wizard of Oz. Xamag is Russian, I believe, and makes art mostly for her comic and fandoms such as Homestuck and Undertale.

artist statement

Art to me is like my alter ego or something. I wouldn't think of myself as super special or good at anything other than making the kind of art I do. I draw a lot because it helps my anxiety and makes me feel less awkward/useless, so I usually use up almost a whole notebook pretty quick. I started getting really into webcomics around the 7th grade, and wanted to do something like that myself, so i made this little comic called "Box Man" which was about this rectangle guy with, like, toothpaste hair and an assistant named Bob who was just a moody triangle and the inconveniences that the antagonist, Dr. Skittlez and his more competent henchmen Proff. Eminemesis. It was the best thing ever and I wish I hadn't lost them all. I also started this more serious comic that lasted about 20 pages that I still have and totally want to continue/remake. I also really like cartoons like We Bare Bears and The Amazing  World of Gumball, which made me want to become an animator so I could make something like that that people will enjoy. I think the best experience I could have is having a fan, liked when someone I don't know very well likes my art a lot and wants to do fanart of it.

drawing from research

I have no idea how to explain this picture, so interpret it as you will. I'm sure that once upon a time I had a reason, but looking back I have no clue what it was. I really like the marker work on this one and think it was one of the best things I did in drawing this year, along with my hand. The only thing I have to complain about on this one is the ears are too small, proportionately.

portrait

This turned out really nice, but I never did finish it. This project was so weird to do, because there were parts where you had to reverse shade and it looked really weird. I wish I would have finished this, but I didn't feel motivated to and it would've probably taken a while to pencil in all of the rest of it.

outside drawing

This is not a drawing done of the outside. This is a drawing that was done outside.

Also it is a meme and what is wrong with the dog's face eugh.
That Dino turned out pretty nice though.

micro drawing

This was a zoomed in drawing of a tiny birdhouse (I think). The proportions may be a bit off?? Or the house may have been a little warped. Either way it looks a little funky. I had to use some creative coloring with the provided color sticks to get the right shades in some places. I chose to make the background reddish because I thought that would look the best.

portfolio cover

I like space and the ocean. I don't want to go to either though. I just want to appreciate both from afar. They're supposed to represent the ocean and space by the way.
